Enough Already

I live in Alabama. I am not supposed to own a Down jacket that comes to mid-calf and actually have to wear it. And I know that other places in the U.S. have had it much harder than we have, but still - enough with winter. I'm ready for spring. I have to go to Tulsa tomorrow for work. And even though I'm thankful I'm going to be missing the 17 feet of snow there, here's what I'm looking at:


And I'm longing for the days of this:


Can you see it? The car registered 111. And right now, I'm OK with that.

I miss the beach:


I miss boat rides on the lake as the sun's setting at 8:00:


I miss drinking these outside:

Dragon Fruit Strawberry Mojito - we're going to be making these soon, girls, so get your muddlers ready.

But spring is just around the corner. What are y'all excited about?

  1. Well said sister! I am looking forward to feeling the sun soak into my skin when I walk out of the overly air conditioned building. I am looking forward to walking the dog around the lake -- without ear protection and a fleece and a down vest... and to walking in the DAYLIGHT when I get home after 6 p.m.

    Believe it or not, I am even looking forward to blowing up the kids pool and baking in the back yard while they play in it!

    Finally, I'm looking foward to wearing more of one of my favorite colors... coral! Woo hoo.

    Meanwhile, I'm waiting to hear if the school starts late tomorrow because of the 2" of snow expected tonight.... *sigh*
