Cute Throw Pillows at... Wal-Mart?!?

Last night I was trying to find a new toaster at Wally World, when I stumbled upon the formerly-icky throw pillow section. But what's that I see? There are actually CUTE throw pillows! At Wal-Mart! And, of course, they're all $12, because, you know - it's Wal-Mart. (Excuse the grungy camera phone shots.)

While I don't like ACTUAL birds, bird motifs are A-OK in my book. I like the orange-y red in this one. And I want to put this pillow on this amazing settee:

Zebra is weird, because it either looks incredibly chic or completely cheap. When you see it glaring at you from the Wal-Mart shelf, it might not seem like anything special (even with the bead work). But picture it away from the Wal-Mart fake flowers, tires and blenders, in a fabulous room like this. You'd never know it was from Wally World:

I love love love this lattice work pillow (even though I didn't get a good shot of it). The green is fun and not quite neon. I could see this pillow working in this room as a cool contrast to the wallpaper:

So, perhaps it's time to give the Evil Empire of Wal-Mart another glance. Could they be taking a tip from Target on cool home decor?

  1. I definitely think they are trying to step up their game. They remodeled the Wally World by me a few months ago and its so much nice inside. Plus, it seems they have some better stuff. I am diggin' that bird pillow too!

  3. I've actually gotten several things for the house from Wal-Mart - the trick is - you just have to be picky there! :) It's hit or miss!
